Progression has been appreciated in every aspect of life.

Progress has constantly brought humanity to enjoy a better standard of life. One often not fully aware of the living standard is through the countless invention and breakthroughs. Progress occurs in different scales from countries development to celebrate a small personal goal. The project should align with the public interest. Otherwise, it may harm the established system.

To a certain extent, it will eventually reach stagnation if there is no innovation. The stagnation is the outcome of the complacency mentality. If innovation and a robust system are absent, the resistance provided by stagnation will lead to a revolution.

The revolution, in a positive way, such as the innovation of novel technology and the finding of new medicine. However, not all resistance happened without any sacrifice. The uprising that abrupt people’s fate will usually come with a cost, such as war or the change of era.

Human needs information to make better decision to ensure human survival. In this fast-paced era, the excess often leads one to discuss topics that are irrelevant to us. The war ongoing in the Middle East will have almost no direct effect on the one who lives in South America.

By scrutinizing individually, a person may be intrigued by the news that happened to surround us. By overpaying attention to the information, one may ignore the critical agenda. The irrelevant information will mislead one to prioritize other things.

However, the irrelevancy itself could be beneficial in two conditions. First, the irrelevancy thought is supported by the action. Second, the originality of the idea that free from mass influence. “Asking” is fundamentally used for getting answers from any relevant sources. By asking, one can gain relevant knowledge that may apply in the future. With the technology advancement, the information can be acquired through typing several keywords instead of finding multiple information from books/people.

We can virtually know everything by searching the correct keywords on the internet. The overwhelming information can be acquired where one may hardly digest the information given may mislead one to make a wrong decision.

Ideally speaking, most people could get the trivial information by asking, unless the information is premium. Virtually speaking, it would not become an issue for that. Provided the intelligence that the algorithm possesses, it can provide objective input to the user. The data is gathered by processing countless facts and subjective experiences, though it could be manipulated by the programmer.

With the objectiveness and lack of emotion that algorithms have, the focus on the art of asking should shift to human interaction. One could provide the answer through opinion and subjective experiences.

One would tend to share something that one is passionate to others. By asking a question related to one’s hobby, the interaction benefits mutual parties. The person who enquires will gain the information, while the listener feels appreciated with the knowledge possessed.

It is also a way to create a small talk topic by asking something related to the listener. However, there is a caveat: the question asked must be genuine. The effect will be detrimental where one asks a question where the counterparts realize it is used for the conversation extension.

In a certain period, one may counter sets of challenges. Some people face it easily, while others are overwhelmed and struggling with it. The challenges faced may encompass multidimensional aspects, where the challenges can be solved when one has the bravery and persistence to confront them.

When one goes to a wet market, one may find the action of ox-slaughtering, performed daily by the butcher, disturbing. For an ordinary person, it may change the perception of an omnivoric diet. For a butcher, it’s considered a norm. At this point, can we consider the butcher as inhumane?

Massacre, a more extreme example, involves two parties with a distinct strength. The dominating party arbitrarily exercises the power to kill the weaker one. From a humanitarian aspect, it is deemed ruthless. However, the sad truth, is massacres happen occasionally in human history.

The ruthless action is doubted can be done naturally without any initiation from the leader. The emotional manipulation can be done through training, enforcement, propaganda, or constant torture, where one will slowly shift the mindset, to a moment where the sanity is eroded.

The mindset shift can be harnessed for practical purposes. A military trains its soldier to be unconditional obedience to the order. Security is trained to be disagreeable to ensure the security of a premise. The ruthless aspect is necessary to ensure the proper operation in society.

The displacement of sanity can be implemented to improve one’s daily life. The training or action that is considered overloaded can help one to be more resilient. The reward after going through the challenge may make one feel more confident. However, a greater purpose or goal is necessary or else it will be pure torture.

When one goes to a supermarket to purchase daily goods, one can gauge the price accurately. The frequent visit to the store trains one to be sensitive to the pricing. The ability could be helpful, especially since the store intentionally marks up the commodity price.

Unluckily, it doesn’t happen in every single store. The pricing won’t become precise when one is unfamiliar with the items. It occurs when one goes to a computer store or furniture store. A person needs an additional understanding of technical or artistic sense to evaluate the products accurately.

An understanding of the product does not necessarily make one price an item correctly. When the general market lacks specific knowledge of a product, the pricing will significantly differ from the supplier costs of goods and based on the impression given.

Therefore, familiarity and the beauty of a product play a pivotal role in stigmatizing people to purchase an item that is much expensive than it should be. It is not necessary due to the quality of the products. as human plays a role as both rational and irrational creature,

Freedom, a privilege to choose the option without the limitation from external forces, has been promoted to improve human rights. When one is free, one has the luxury to do whatever one wants. Freedom will usually lead to a positive emotion that leads to short-term happiness.

When one has a short vacation, it is freedom. When one can control oneself, it is also freedom. The definition of freedom differs from one another, tailor-made and generally correlated with life satisfaction.

Freedom, pursued by most people, may bring hidden risks long run on a micro-scale or macro-scale. Splurging cash in year-end sales or just having fun and avoiding responsibility, these examples illustrate when one cannot control the freedom given. In these cases, the action done can be deemed unsustainable.

When freedom is not harnessed, it will be slowly taken out involuntarily. Rules are necessary to be there to preserve the available choice. Regulations can be self-imposed for one not to astray and regulate self-control. On a large scale, due to people’s tendency to have a personal interest, the rule can be formalized to have order and collective group interest.

Indolence within oneself will make one lean towards freedom, where both terms closely correlate with one another. However, there is also a downside of rules and regulations. Over formulated rules will reduce one’s flexibility and will result in counter-productive.

Therefore, a balance of freedom and rules are necessary to keep things orderly, sustainable, productive, and fulfilling. Freedom is the one that people aim to be progressive and innovative. On the other hand, rules prevent misuse of freedom and limits complacency.

The impact brought to the person does not limit the environment that shapes one’s personality. It could also inherit social status, religion, and life goals. A person born in a faithful Christian family will be more likely to be a Christian. The same phenomenon also happens to well-off people, that the offspring will remain rich if being nurtured accordingly.

However, people sensitivity to something not conforming will lead to discrimination and exclusivity. People tend to cooperate with people with higher uniformity. The exclusivity works to preserve the best interest of the group.

The inheritance of identity causes the forming of culture. Collectively, it could form a prejudice towards a group. The pre-information would help a person to guess another people behavior and action that a person to do. However, the status of a person should not be the basis of treatment.

One should not use his background to discriminate against other people. On the other hand, one should highlight and embrace the difference. Eventually, it integrates other people view into our view to be more open-minded and adaptable.

People get excitement in various ways. One of them is to own new stuff. Purchasing new shoes, a new laptop, or even a new car will boost mood temporarily. Humans tend to appreciate the new things, as new items will be indicated as a sign of beauty.

A new item often comes along with inactive usage of the previous one. The disposal is mainly affected by the item properties. An old shirt and phone will likely be stored in a cupboard or drawer, while an old car is most probably sold.

Moreover, as humans are emotional creatures, one may not dispose of an item because of the feeling of belonging. Supported by the guilt of wasting, prevent one to dispose of the spoiled item. It usually happens to someone that is not materialistically stable in a certain period.

The tendency and the sense of belonging will eventually result in the hoarding of unutilized items. The items will eventually fill up the whole space if no action is taken. Hoarding could be associated with one’s laziness and ignorant attitude.

Disposal is necessary to make the space look better that may eventually freshen our minds. However, it doesn’t mean getting rid of every single thing that is not used. Some items remind us of a meaningful experience that is irreplaceable, such as photos. The memory should not be correlated with the period that one uses the item, such as phones.

Everyone has a different style of perceiving how things work. Some will think the bigger picture of what’s happening microscopically. Another is going to investigate the microscopic detail. The two mindsets can be applied differently in different circumstances.

However, people will tend to think in one way than another. It will result in certain people will give a similar pattern of input and comment, i.e. working and speaking style. Among people, there will be opinions that often contradict one another. However, there is a better opinion within the discussion, often due to the correct approach taken.

A person who understands the bigger picture will be suitable for managing a team to see the issue holistically. To be good at it, one needs to get exposure to various components to know what’s going on. A mind mapping skill is usually required for one to see a bigger picture.

On the other hand, some people are more capable of a spontaneous incident where the solution can be decided on the circumstances. These types of people focus on the present issue that often suggests a practical solution for the moment.

People who have a propensity towards the big picture will think more intuitively than people who think practical. However, over-rely on intuition will be struggling for a fast pace environment and disturbance. Intuition will even obstruct one’s way to action.

Conversely, solving the problem practically without considering the bigger picture may create a conflict of interest that eventually harm the stakeholders. Therefore, one needs to shift the thinking behaviour through action that will steadily train the mindset to consider both directions. In this world, there are countless successful people in their fields. In their areas, a figure inevitably has some followers or admirers. There are thousands and millions of fans that freak out and are meticulously lookout for the actions and behaviours of their idol.

Other than idols, some figures demonstrate outstanding abilities in their fields. The demeanour they figure express emanates the quality that the admirers desire. By exhibiting this quality, it piques people’s inner desire to be the person they follow.

The figure available in society is not always the one that has the positive quality for the others. As there is no definite right or wrong on a person’s value, the figures in society exert their influences in different ways. With influence capability, a person may get more approval than others.

By representing the value of a group, a leader who is subjectively having a distorted view may be followed by a mass. By showing resonance to the public, he is depicted as a hero to deliver mass aspiration.

A villain could be admired through his charisma and fighting the existing system and structure. For instance, Robin Hood, despite stealing from the rich, the poor have supported him due to his ability to fight the structured social system.
